Celebrating One Year of FUTRWORKS: A Nomadic Bar-Hopping Experience in Jūso
As part of the one-year anniversary celebration for FUTRWORKS, a platform dedicated to empowering digital nomads, Osaka JOINER collaborated with Hankyu Hanshin Properties to host a bar-hopping tour in the vibrant Jūso area. This event was designed to offer visiting nomads more than just a coworking space—it was an opportunity to immerse themselves in Osaka’s rich culture and cuisine while experiencing the city’s renowned hospitality.
Digital nomads—professionals who work remotely without being tied to a fixed office—are becoming an increasingly significant demographic worldwide. Osaka JOINER took on the role of bridging these global professionals with the city’s deep local culture, leading them on an exploration of one of Osaka’s most authentic districts, Jūso.
Juso is known as a vibrant neighborhood bustling with locals and office workers, despite its prime location just one station and a three-minute ride from Umeda Station on the Hankyu Line, where the presence of foreign visitors is almost negligible.
A Journey Through Osaka’s Local Bar Scene
Over the course of two hours, participants visited three distinct izakayas, including a classic local pub, a standing bar popular with the neighborhood’s regulars, and a yakitori spot inspired by the Hanshin Tigers baseball team.
Beyond strengthening connections among nomads, the tour fostered interactions with regular patrons and shop owners. With the help of a guide, participants engaged in conversations, exchanged cheers over drinks, and received recommendations for local specialties, creating a warm and natural atmosphere of cultural exchange. One bar owner commented, “We don’t often get international guests, so it was wonderful to see them enjoying Japanese sake. Having a guide made communication much easier and more enjoyable.”
At one of the standing bars, Japanese sake and umeshu (plum wine) were particularly well received. Many participants also had their first taste of local delicacies such as firefly squid and seared bonito, with one guest exclaiming, “I would never have tried this if it hadn’t been recommended!”
A Memorable Experience in the Heart of Osaka
As the tour came to an end, participants expressed their excitement: “This was such an incredible experience! The food was amazing, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made me feel truly embraced by the local community.”

FUTRWORKS×Osaka JOINER

今回「FUTRWORKS」の1周年記念イベントの一環として、阪急阪神不動産さまとタイアップして「十三Barhopping」を3月に実施しました。大阪に滞在するノマドワーカーの皆さんに、大阪の文化や食を楽しんで、フレンドリーな大阪を体験してもらいたい、コワーキングで過ごす時間に加えて、同じローカル体験を過ごすことでさらなるビジネス展開に繋がればという背景から、Osaka JOINERチームへお声がけいただきました。
舞台は大阪の中でも昔ながらの雰囲気を色濃く残す、ディープな街「十三」。梅田駅から阪急電車に乗れば1駅3分の立地ですが、外国人旅行者は数少ないエリアです。Osaka JOINERのスタッフはデジタルノマドのみなさんと大阪の街や人々を繋ぐ役割を担うべく、十三へ足を運び、地域やお店の方々とコミュニケーション、コンテンツ造成を行い、当日のご案内までを担います。FUTRWORKSのスタッフの皆様と下打ち合わせや当日の路地確認を行い、さぁ当日です。
Local Bar Hopping
十三駅で待ち合わせです。一行は、阪急電鉄の創業者でもある「小林一三記念館」の見学後、地元の方やサラリーマンで賑わう十三駅へ到着しました。2時間で３店舗の居酒屋を巡る「十三」バーホッピングのはじまりです。この日は数あるお店から、日本らしさを感じられる大衆居酒屋、地元の方々が集う立ち飲み居酒屋、関西を代表する野球球団、阪神タイガースをテーマにした居酒屋など個性あふれる3店舗に絞って、お店の方々とも事前調整を行った上で、ご案内しました。
参加者のみなさまはローカルなお店をめぐり、オーナーさんやお店の方との交流も楽しんだ様子です。JOINERを通じてコミュニケーションをとり、おすすめのお酒や食事を楽しみました。お酒は、日本酒や梅酒が特に好評。ホタルイカなど旬の食材や、かつおのたたきにもチャレンジして、「これは初めて食べた！おすすめしてくれないと出会えなかった」と喜んでいました。常連さんともJOINERを通じてコミュニケーションを取り、一緒に乾杯をしたり、お酒のおすすめを聞いたりするなど、自然に交流する場面も多くみられました。
お店もオーナーさんも「ふだん、海外の方はあまり来ないけれど、日本のお酒を飲み楽しんでくれるのはやはり嬉しい。ガイドがいるので、安心してコミュニケーションが取れた」とコメント。ツアー終了後、コロンビア出身の参加者からは「本当に楽しい時間だった！食事も美味しくて、ローカルの雰囲気や人あたたかさに、受け入れられていると感じられたことが特に素晴らしかった！」という言葉も。ノマド同士のかかわりや関係性の向上に加え、大阪を大いに楽しんでいただけた1日だったと思います。
